Curly Shirley...

Munchkin 2 is my blessed child. She's blessed with dimples and curly hair. When I arrived home today I was surprised to see an Extra curly haired little girl. Her Jessica and Carina had gone to town on her hair, and curled her up real good. She was oh so proud of her new "do" and begged for a photo-shoot. Of course, she needed her proper Princess attire...then outdoors we went...

The Cookers

Munchkin 1 is off to a great start in Kindergarten. She has made new friends, is learning it's okay to wake up before the sun is out, and has even been given her first speaking part in the Kindergarten play. Woah! It's amazing the things she's learned in just a few weeks. Today her peers had their first Cooking class. One of the Moms made each student a monogrammed apron with their name and a chef's hat on it. They are absolutely adorable! Here is a pic of their "culinary crew". Needless to say...I'm one proud mom :)

Aint' Life Grand

Noticing it's been mid-summer since my last blog post. I'll highlight the high (and low) points since then.

1. The Stud and I celebrated 7 years of marraige on July 26. Guess the itch should be over now, huh?

2. Munchkin 2 turned 4 in August, and will no longer wear any article of clothing that has a number 3 on it.

3. I had my 20's Funeral on September 5, and met my 30's on the September 6. It was a painful good-bye and hello, but I'm dealing with it.

4. Munchkin 1 started Kindergarten on September 8. Since this time I've been cutting crust off of Peanut Butter sandwiches, playing the role of drill sargeant in the mornings, and learning that everything is "Like this" and "Like that"...really?

It's amazing how life's chapters change so quickly. The older I get the more I understand true happiness is in the little things. Things like late night ice-cream sandwich snacks with my girls, my son running to have me kiss his "bobo", and random mushy-gushy text-messages from The Stud during the day.

Focus on the High Points and the Low Points will surely fade away.

The Greatest Show on Earth...

Summer time is here. It's HOT...very, very, very HOT. Oh. and HUMID. Can I get an AMEN from all ya'll Texans.

As a child, when I thought of Summer I would think of lots of days in the pool, at the lake, grilling outdoors, staying up late, late at night, sleeping late, late the next morning, eating watermelon, hanging out at Astroworld (R.I.P. ol' friend) Summer camps, and the CIRCUS! The circus always made it's way into town sometime during the summer months. Folks from all over would flock to see the silly clowns, amazing acrobats and vicious tigers.

So...without hesitation, the munchkins and I loaded up and headed down to see the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus. We had a wondeful time with friends just "oohing and aahhing" over the circus acts, which can only be seen at "The Greatest Show on Earth"

It was nice to let go, and let the child in me live again...even if it was in between popcorn runs, and potty breaks.

Battle of the Dora Car...

The munchkins decided to pull out their only mode of automatic transportation on the property today...the Dora Car. Mind you this car is a 1 seater, and does not accomodate the 3 munchkins well at all. The attempt usually ends up something like this...

M2: "Okay...I'll just walk behind.. You two can have all the fun of driving."M2: "This is not cool...I should be able to ride also."

M2: "WWHHHEEEEEE... this is fun...Why didn't we think of this before guys?"
M3: "Left me off ...You girls are crowding me"
M3: "WWAAAHHHHH...wait...I've decided I want back on now!"

M1: "Haha...Girl Power!! "
M2: "No boys allowed...this is much better."

M3: "NO!!!! This is not fair. MMMOOOOOMMM!!!"

M1: "Okay...let's try this again. I'll sit on the hood and relax..Munchkin 2 take it away."

M2 & M3: "Well..this is a little better...At least none of us have to walk."

Daydreamin...

I want to climb into this boat and drift away for just a few moments.
I want to grow a garden. Lots and lots of veggies - springing forth with bursts of color

I want to finish reading (at a minimum) one of the four books I've begun in the past few weeks.

I want to overhaul my closet.

I want to learn to play the fiddle.

I want to sing like Eva Cassidy.

I want to walk into Neiman's and buy anything I like.

Ok..that's enough for now.

Enjoy your daydreams.

Hellooooooo.....

Oh. I. am. such. a. terrible. blogger.

Honestly, I've saved several blog drafts in the past few weeks, to no avail at fininshing at least one of them. O well. Here is a brand new one today. I wonder if it will actually get published. We shall see. My goal today. Push the Publish Post button at the bottom of the page...you know...the big Orange button?

(((Phone is ringing...hold on)))

Okay, I'm back.

So. Munchkin 1 is set to start Kindergarten this coming fall. Baby Munchkin 3 is turning 2 in 14 days, and I'm slowly inching my way out of my twenties. I know this feeling. The feeling of leaving one chapter of my life, and moving into a brand new chapter. I've been here before, and dealing with the changes always seem impossible at first.

(((responding to a text message now)))

hello again.

I slowly get adapted again to where I am in life, then poof I'm thrown into a new uncomfortable place. What an adventure...this life!

(((not another phone call!!!!)))

I gotta go. I'm reaching for the button now.

Pick Yourself Up...

"Nothing's impossible I have found,
For when my chin is on the ground,
I pick myself up,
Dust myself off,
Start All over again.

Don't lose your confidence if you slip,
Be grateful for a pleasant trip,
And pick yourself up,
Dust yourself off,
Start all over again.

Work like a soul inspired,
Till the battle of the day is won.
You may be sick and tired,
But you'll be a man, my son!

Will you remember the famous men,
Who had to fall to rise again?
So take a deep breath,
Pick yourself up,
Dust yourself off,
Start all over again."

She was busy painting faces, and creating balloon thingys. The children were plum were out by the time the party was over. Below are a few pics from the festivities.

A Beautiful Day..

Today is Munchkin 1's birthday..we spent the day exploring, picking flowers, and collecting things like acorns, rocks, sticks and odd shaped leaves. Munchkin 1 & 3 enjoyed having their eldest cousin with them. The Stud and the SLD team were busy working while we just played! Below are a few pics...it was a gorgeous day!!!
