MY space bubble

People, please - please - please, do not invade the space bubble of your neighbor while in line at the grocery store, Target, or anyplace for that matter...!! ooohhh...

So today, I'm at the office supply store, and I'm paying for my items when a woman and her daughter (or granddaughter maybe) step into my Space Bubble....to the point that it BURST !

I'm standing there, and this woman is literally about to whisper into my ear, or lick it, or aaahhhH!!! Trying not to be rude, I slightly move the opposite direction, and she proceeds to move as well. By this time she is now directly in front of the counter (with my things still being scanned by the cashier), and I'm further to the left of the counter waiting for my total. Her daughter is standing just as close to me as she was, and I can feel my face getting red (love of God, love of God!!). The cashier completes my order, and I'm trying to nudge the folks out of the way to get to the credit card terminal to swipe my payment (although I felt like asking them if they would like to pay for my things for me since they were so anxious). They finally inched over a hair, and stood glaring behind my shoulder as I swiped my card, and completed paying(I'm sure they memorized my PIN number) It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut...REALLY!!! What are folks thinking (I guess they're not)?

Please give a little privacy to the person in front or behind you ....

There...I feel better now :)

Musings

Forewarning: Please be advised that I had no idea what the word Musings meant when I originally posted this blog...I do, however, now know the true meaning (thanks to Google), and even though it does not totally apply to my blog content...I've chosen to leave it as the title...welcome to my world, and thanks for musing with me ;)
Dear Diary:

1. Awoke with a terrible aching in my back this morning - partly due to my half-sit, half-lay position while bonding with my laptop last night, mainly due to my aging disorder.
2. Received a lovely (mushy) text message from The Stud this morning to start my day off with a smile (and a fear of what may be coming next...what could he want?)
3. Arrived at the office to find that one of our employees had finally finished piecing together the desk for one of our offices, which by the way had been sitting dismantled for several days...this immediately took place over the text message as the highlight of my morning
4. Suffered through a complete history on the culture in Asian marriages while having my eyebrows worked over.
5. Received a call late this afternoon that Munchkin 3 had ran into a door frame full blast, and was sporting a knot on his forehead this size of an egg on steriods.
6. Rushed Munchkin 3 to the local ER only to find out I am a totally over-dramatic mom of 3.
7. Waiting on more interesting things to come forth from this evening. Trust me, I'll definitely keep you posted.

Simply Splendid.

Today was splendid. Bright sunshine, cool breeze, 3 munchkins, and one happy mom. Although, the cares of wifehood beckoned - I put my 'mom' hat on today, and had a blast. The munchkins and I headed out early for a day at the park - snacks and beverage in tow. We rock-climbed, monkey-barred, wooshed down the slide, swung high on the swings, fed the ducks, took a walk down the nature trail, played chase in the open field, made new friends (with people and pets) and laughed, laughed, laughed.
After we played till we were pooped, we headed home for lunch, and spent the remainder of the day playing the Wii, reading books, and just giggling. I love days like today. Days like today are my therapy. You should try it sometime....it really does work.
Now, all of my munchkins are tucked cozy in bed, and I too, am calling it a splendid day.

Junk Food Junkie

Hubby and I had a fantastic dinner last evening. If you've never sunk you teeth into a piece of Grimaldi's Pizzeria Coal Brick oven pizza...Well, you're just not cool :) Grimaldi's is a quaint, quiet pizza joint in the Waterway Square in The Woodlands. Absolutely the BEST pizza I've ever eaten...even their mushrooms taste divine. Anyhow, we enjoyed a whole large pizza last evening with Munckin 3...it was a nice way to end a dreary, rainy day. However, all of that high calorie, carb infested dinner must've awakened my inner love for "junk food" I won't say how many chocolate twix minis I've eaten today.

Breakfast of champions this morning...

My ever so healthy lunch today....delicioso!!

Now I'm sitting here at my desk...waiting for dinner again :)

Ciao... Happy Valentines Day
Save some chocolate for mmmmeeeeeee - Muah!

Getting Feisty

So we had an ordeal this afternoon.

Not our first, but definitely the first of this sort.

Munchkin 1 slapped Munchkin 2 smack across the left cheek...I'm mean SMACK SLAPPED her...boy oh boy.

The shreel from the back bedroom sent chills up my spine, and I literally reached the bedroom door in 3 leaps from the kitchen. As I swung the door open, I heard Munchkin1 begging her victim " please don't tell mom, pleeeaaasse." Both were in tears. After figuring out the story, I sent them both to their own "quiet spot" to think about what had just transpired...

Munchkin 2 had called Munchkin 1 "Stinky" so Munchkin 1 slapped her..wow!!! Are you kidding me? Hadn't I taught them anything in their 3-4 years on this earth? I did take a moment to inspect the large hand-printed red spot on M2's face - she must've been hurting...poor thing! M1 was wailing from her "quiet spot" (go figure) of how she was so so so sorry, and she didn't think about her actions before she took them..

Drama queens. Drama queens. Drama queens.

Where do they pick this stuff up? I'm not the least bit dramatic... Am I? (Please don't answer here)

After several moments of cryings, talking, speeches, hugs & kisses the situation was resolved, and happy giggles were once again flowing through my sweet drama-free abode...aaahhhh.

Passion...

Passion: a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything

This word has been at the forefront of my mind today. I've heard this word, and have even used it in sentence or two, but I began thinking of how it played out in my own life, and the lives of those around me.

Rewind... (do I have ADD??)

The Stud and I were discussing our business last evening, and he said to me "you know, I don't look at my job as a job" I said "what is it then," His reply was "I look at it as another opportunity for me to live my life to the fullest, enjoying every minute of it along the way"

I sat there for a moment thinking "who is this man and is where is my stud?"

At that moment I realized....this is his passion..Life is his passion, loving his family and living his dreams....physically, emotionally and spiritually...with all of his being.

WOW!

So, back to today...I began to think about Passion, and how I might feel the same way he does about living. Of course, I love my life, my munchkins, yadda yadda yadda.. but what is that thing that drives me, what is it that makes me happy when everything else around me is gloom and doom. Most of my day was spent in deep thought...asking myself "is this my passion, is that my passion?" Of course, I couldn't help but think of Jesus, and how he expressed to us the Ultimate Passion for mankind. It really does seem beyond my comprehension - that sort of Passion.
I intend to take inventory, clean house, and find my true passion. Unfortunately, I've allowed things to creep in and cover my passion up, things that are meaningless, things that have become habits or routine.

In the words of Switchfoot..."This is your life...Are you who you wanna be?"

Just Breathe...

Here is a tid-bit of conversation my oldest munchkin and I had earlier in the week.

Me: "I so need a massage right now...I'm about to go to the loony bin"
Munchkin 1: "Where's the loony bin?"
Me: "The place that mommies go when they need a massage"
Munchkin 1: "So you're going there Wednesday, right?"
I had mentioned to her that I was going for a massage on Wednesday, and she definitely remembered :)
So...For just a few moments I was able to breathe today....really breathe..you know the kind where you tell yourself to breathe...long, deep breaths? It was heavenly...my inner-most being was crying out for more, but the chunky little woman working me over gently swept her hands down my whole body one last time....and POOF...back to the loony bin I went.
